₦100,000 each: three Ojodu businesses receive the September Apatira Empowerment award
A food entrepreneur, a soap and scent maker and a dry cleaning business each received a ₦100,000 cheque at the office — and the Apatira Business Team stays with them after the money. October applications are open.
Three businesses in and around Ojodu LCDA received one hundred thousand naira each at the office on Wednesday, under the Apatira Monthly Empowerment programme.
The cheques were presented by Hon.
Opeyemi Apatira, Leader of the Legislative Arm of Ojodu LCDA.
This month's winners are Oluwabusayo Ayoade Ekundayo, Omololu Favour Sessi and Owolabi Ayeni Azeez.
Oluwabusayo Ayoade Ekundayo is a young entrepreneur from Adekunle village who is in the corporate food business.
Her clientele keeps increasing, and she was selected for the genuineness of her proposal and for the large room she has to grow into a proper food distribution network.
Omololu Favour Sessi is in the soap and scent making business, and needed a mixer to raise her volume so that she can supply her goods as merchandise and souvenirs at parties and events.
She asked for one hundred and thirty thousand naira towards the mixer; the award meets her with one hundred thousand naira, and she was also empowered with a free working website where her customers can place orders, and enrolment in classes where she will learn to industrialise her trade.
Ayeni Azeezat runs a dry cleaning outlet with only one washing machine, and needed to procure a used one to expand and serve more customers.
The award adds a working machine to his business, and the Apatira Business Team will monitor his progress as he develops pick-ups and drop-offs, to make sure that our constituents are better off and that our youths succeed.
We do not only gift these businesses, we monitor their progress and source other grants and developmental programmes for them, especially for women and youths.
October's submissions are really getting interesting, and we hope to announce the beneficiaries for October by the end of the month.
